The win was a huge upset for Morono, who came into the fight as a significant underdog. It was also a significant victory for the 31-year-old fighter, who improved his professional record to 19-7 with the win over the more experienced Means.

Ian Machado Garry, a former kickboxing world champion, had a successful UFC debut against Daniel Rodriguez. The Brazilian featherweight landed a picture-perfect head kick that floored Rodriguez and then followed up with strikes on the ground to secure the TKO win. The fight ended at 2:57 of the first round. Machado Garry improves his record to 9-0 and will surely become a force to be reckoned with in the 145-pound division.

Jailton Almeida’s UFC debut couldn’t have gone any better. In the main event of UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs Almeida, the Brazilian newcomer stopped Jairzinho Rozenstruik in just under four minutes. Almeida got Rozenstruik’s back after the Surinamese fighter landed a right hand on the newcomer’s jaw. Almeida then latched onto Rozenstruik’s neck, cinched up the rear-naked choke, and got the tap at 3:43 of the first round. Almeida, who competed in the regional scene in Brazil, has now won five consecutive fights and will certainly climb up the heavyweight rankings.
